5 easy steps to clean your meat grinder

5 easy steps to clean your meat grinder 1

Grinding Meat is one of the most important operations for Meat Processors, Packers, and Butcher Shops, whenever you deal with raw meat, Cleaning and Sanitizing is a must in order to avoid the germs and bacteria that come from residue, while lubrication will keep the moving parts lasting longer and it makes clean-up even easier, also will provide rust and corrosion protection

Here are some easy steps to keep your Meat Grinder free of Germs, Virus and Bacteria:

  1. Disassemble the Dirty Grinder: Begin by taking apart and separating each chamber of your grinder.
  2. Spray the Parts with Alpet D2: This is a (58% IPA/quat formula), here the benefits of using our product:
    • Clean, Sanitize and Disinfect food contact and non-food contact surfaces with one product
    • 60 Second Kill on food contact surfaces, including rubber gloves
    • 10 Second Kill on non-food contact surfaces, including rubber footwear
    • Kills 99.999% of 9 tested pathogens as a food contact surface sanitizer
    • Highly Evaporative and ideal for water sensitive equipment and low moisture environments
    • NSF Listed, EPA Registered, Kosher, Pareve and Halal
  3. Scrub the parts: Use a sponge to clean the screw, cover, and blade. Be careful when handling the blade, since this is sharp and can easily cut you if mishandled. Use a soft-bristle brush or non-abrasive pad to scrub any additional grime or residue
  4. Rinse and Dry: Give the grinder a good rinse in clean hot water, making sure that all the alcohol and plant residue are gone. Use a clean towel to dry off the grinder
  5. Lubricate with JAX Grinder-Glide FG-3H: This is an industry first in food-grade, meat grinder lubrication. Compounded exclusively from carefully selected base oils and additives that are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) and/or safe for human consumption, JAX Grinder-Glide FG-3H is a no-compromise direct food-contact, state-of-the-art grinder lubricant.

In many meat grinding applications, two lubricants are commonly used: One after the sanitation process as a rust and corrosion inhibitor (this is usually not a direct-contact product, and re-sanitation is required before use) and one as a start-up lubricant to provide protection to the grinder plates until the fats of the meat provide natural lubrication for the grinder. JAX Grinder-Glide FG-3H eliminates this two-step process by providing a direct food-contact lubricant that has unmatched rust and corrosion protection as well as the load-carrying and lubricity properties necessary to eliminate dry start-ups.
