A highly alkaline and oxidizing salt bath mixture used for the non-electrolytic descaling of most ferrous alloys and conditioning of surface oxides for subsequent removal in dilute acid. Nickel, chromium, cobalt, and other alloys are also successfully descaled in Scale Kleen 5.
